Channels you can connect
Planable gives social media teams everything they need to move their creative process forward. You can connect:
- Facebook Pages
- LinkedIn personal profiles and LinkedIn company pages
- Instagram professional accounts (business and creator)
- X accounts
- Google Business Profiles
- YouTube channels
- TikTok accounts
- Pinterest business accounts
- Threads accounts
Alongside those channels, the same window carries a separate ad account card for each platform that supports paid analytics. Connecting a page or profile is not the same thing as connecting an ad account — see Connect an ad account below.
Connect a page
Go to the Channels section, then click the + button.
Select the social media channel you want to connect — Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Business Profiles, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest or Threads.
Click Add Pages, follow the instructions for adding a page to your workspace, then click the page to confirm the connection.
Your page then appears in the workspace.
Connect an ad account
Connecting a page or profile does not give you paid analytics. Page analytics and ads analytics come from two different sources, so the ad account is a separate connection — even for a page you've already connected.
In the same window where you pick a channel, each platform that supports paid data has its own ad account card. Select that card instead of the page card and follow the same authentication flow.
- Facebook and Instagram — both use the same Meta ad account connection. Each surface is enabled separately in the product.
- LinkedIn — company pages only. See LinkedIn profiles and company pages for who needs which access.
- TikTok — the TikTok ad account is separate from the TikTok channel connection.
You can connect more than one ad account per page. For the full walkthrough, see How to connect an ad account. For what the paid data looks like once it arrives, see Planable Analytics.
Good to know: on Facebook and Instagram, one Meta Ads Account connection serves both Analytics and Social Inbox. Connect it once, from either place, and you get paid metrics in Analytics and comments on your ads in the inbox.
Connecting multiple X, Instagram and TikTok accounts or LinkedIn personal profiles
By default, Planable connects the account you're currently logged in to on Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, Google or LinkedIn. To connect a different account, log out of the current one and authenticate again in Planable with the other account.
- Go to the platform's website (instagram.com, x.com, linkedin.com).
- Log out of your current account.
- Log in to the other account you want to connect.
- Go back to the Planable app (https://app.planable.io).
- Click Add Profile and connect the second account.
It's the same experience for Instagram, X and LinkedIn personal profiles.
LinkedIn profiles and company pages
You can connect both LinkedIn personal profiles and LinkedIn company pages for publishing. For paid analytics, it's company pages only — a personal profile can't carry paid data.
There's one detail worth understanding before you connect. Planable connects a LinkedIn user who has access to the Page, not the Page itself. A Page can be tied to several Ad Accounts and several ads managers, and Planable sees whatever the connecting user's LinkedIn account can reach.
That also means the connecting user needs access to the Ad Account, not just to the Page. Page access alone will connect the page, but it won't bring the paid numbers with it.
Good to know: two colleagues connecting the same LinkedIn Page can legitimately see different paid numbers, because they have different Ad Account access. That isn't a bug. Connect with a user who reaches every relevant Ad Account, or connect the missing Ad Accounts explicitly.
Facebook personal profiles
Planable can't schedule or publish content on Facebook personal profiles. Facebook restricts it: publishing to profiles through third-party apps has been suspended since August 1st, 2018, as part of Facebook's platform changes to reduce abuse.
You can turn a Facebook profile into a page and carry on using Planable — here's how. Once that's done, connect the page in Planable.
Troubleshooting
If you hit an issue while connecting a page, try an incognito window or a different browser. Browser extensions can block the connection.
If a page you've already connected drops out, or you get an alert asking you to reconnect, see Page disconnected & troubleshooting. The same article covers what to do when Analytics asks you to reconnect an ad account — that's a separate connection, and reconnecting the page doesn't fix it.
