Learn how to connect Planable to an AI tool like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini so your assistant can interact with your content on your behalf.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI connect to external tools and take actions on your behalf. Once connected, your AI can browse your workspaces, draft posts, pull analytics, and more — all without you having to switch tabs.
Think of it as giving your AI a set of keys to your Planable account — but you control exactly which doors those keys open.
How to connect
- Go to your AI tool (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Gemini or another MCP-compatible client)and add a custom connector
- Adding MCP in Claude (if you're part of a team/organization, you need to have admin access before adding a custom connector)
- Adding MCP in ChatGPT
- Adding MCP in Gemini
- Add this link as your MCP server URL

Managing your connection
Once connected, you can review and manage your integration at any time.
- View active permissions — see exactly what your AI is allowed to do
- Revoke access — disconnect your AI tool instantly
Connections expire after 8 hours of inactivity and refresh automatically. Your consent is valid for 180 days after that, you'll need to reconnect.
A note on permissions
The AI can only do what you can do. If you don't have the Analytics add-on on a workspace, the AI won't be able to pull analytics for it either. If you're on a plan with a post creation limit, the AI can't create posts beyond that limit. Your plan and workspace permissions always apply.
