Chasing down approvals is one of the more tedious parts of content management. Planable handles that for you with automatic reminder emails — so approvers get a nudge when posts are still waiting on them, without you having to send a single follow-up message.
How reminder emails work
There are two types of reminder emails, each triggered at a different point in the approval process.
- 48-hour request reminder – when someone clicks Request Approval on a post, if the post still hasn't been approved within 48 hours, Planable schedules a reminder email prompting them to review it.
- 24-hour before publishing reminder – If a post is still pending approval, approvers receive a reminder email 1 day before the post's scheduled date so content doesn't miss its publishing window.
*These reminders only fire if the post was scheduled at least 2 days out. Posts scheduled for tomorrow or sooner won't trigger it.
Enabling and disabling approval reminders
Approval reminders are controlled at the workspace level. Only workspace Admins can toggle this setting.
- Click your workspace name in the top bar.
- Select Settings from the dropdown.
- Click Approvals in the left navigation of the Settings panel.
- Scroll to the Settings section and toggle Automatic reminders for pending approvals on or off.
Reminders are off by default. You'll need to enable them for each workspace where you want them active.
*Available on all plans when an Approval Workflow other than None is enabled.
