There are a few limitations imposed by Instagram to all 3rd party tools that we need to keep in mind:
Stories can only be published one image or video at a time.
Adding text effects or stickers to Stories is not available
Stories must comply with Instagram's Community Guidelines.
You cannot publish Stories that are longer than 60 seconds.
You cannot publish Stories with multiple images or videos.
You cannot publish Stories with interactive elements, such as polls or questions.
You cannot publish Stories with links.
You cannot publish Stories with hashtags.
You can not publish stories with mentions.
The dimensions for Instagram Stories are 1080 pixels wide by 1920 pixels tall (1080 x 1920, or 1080p resolution). Your Instagram Story size should have an aspect ratio of 9:16. The minimum width is 500 pixels, the maximum video length is 15 seconds, and the accepted video file types are MP4, MOV, or GIF.
Scheduling stories
After you create the post you'll be able to schedule or publish the post.Β
From your page settings, you can choose how you'd like to publish stories.
Publishing directly
Only for Instagram business accounts that are linked to Facebook pages, stories can be published automatically.
When adding a page in Planable, publishing stories automatically will be disabled, so make sure to enable it from the page settings as shown above.
Once you've scheduled your story it will be published directly on your Instagram page at the chosen date & time.
Publishing through the mobile app
For all other types of Instagram accounts, or if you prefer to make some last edits from Instagram, you can publish using the Planable mobile app.
After you schedule your story, when it's time to publish you'll receive a notification on your mobile device (download the apps here) to publish the post, then you're redirected to the Instagram account and you'll have to select "Story", like in the GIF below.Β
