Instagram's API has several limitations for all scheduling tools.

Here's everything you need to know about how you can get access to Direct Publishing (posts going out automatically):

  • While you can activate Direct publishing for Posts and Reels on a creator account, we recommend having a a business account to be able to access all the options available, Posts, Reels and Stories. Find out here how to easily switch a personal profile to a Business page.

  • Make sure your Instagram Business page is linked to a Facebook page

  • For your feed posts, images and videos must be between these ratio ranges*

Images

Between 4:5 and 1.91:1

Videos (post section)

Between 4:5 and 16:9 (up to 60 sec.)

Reels

9:16 (between 3 sec.- 15 min.)

For personal profiles, creator accounts, or business accounts not linked to Facebook you can publish using our mobile app.

Learn here how to disable direct publishing.

* You can crop or trim videos directly in Planable to ensure your post will go out directly.
