In this article we'll explore everything there is to know about planning, scheduling and publishing Instagram posts in Planable.

First of all, you should know that you can publish Instagram posts, reels, and stories both directly and through our mobile app (with reminders and push notifications when it's time to publish).

Here's everything you need to know about Direct Publishing:

  • Instagram Direct Publishing is only available for Instagram Professional Accounts. Find out here how to easily switch a personal profile and a Creator account to a Business page.

  • The images and videos ratio range accepted by Instagram are:

Images

Between 4:5 and 1.91:1 and max resolution 1080px

Videos

Between 4:5 and 16:9 (up to 60 sec.)

Reels

9:16 (between 3 sec.- 15 min.)

When you connect a page in Planable you can choose between:

  • Adding an Instagram Professional account (connecting through Instagram)

  • Adding an Instagram account via Facebook (your Instagram page is linked to a Facebook page).

The only difference between the two options is access to analytics. Only pages connected through Facebook have access to analytics.

Choose how to publish each type of content

Through Planable you can publish posts, reels, and stories. For each type of content, you can choose if you'd like to publish it automatically or through our mobile app.

To access and enable or disable direct publishing, you need to access your page settings from the sidebar. This is where you'll find a dedicated section for each format, where you can choose how you'd like the content to be published:

Publishing through our Mobile App

No matter the size and format Planable will help you easily publish Instagram stories via mobile notifications. First, you'll need to create a post from our web app. Afterward, please download our mobile app and sign in. Also, see a GIF below.

  1. Tap the notification on the screen and it will automatically open the post in Planable.

  2. Make sure you are logged in on the right Instagram account.

  3. Open media on Instagram.

  4. Copy the caption from the Planable app and paste it on the Instagram post.

  5. Add tags, locations, and any other details.

  6. After finishing posting your content on Instagram, don't forget to mark the post as published in Planable, to keep things organized.

Important

In order to receive notifications that your posts are ready to be published on our mobile app, you need to enable push notifications.

Also, to successfully transfer your media to Instagram, our app requires the necessary permissions. If you didn’t grant these permissions when first installing the app, you can enable them later by following these steps.
