In this article we will see how you can create, schedule and post all videos on all the platforms that we support and we will also tap into the limitations of every platform regarding the video upload (aspect ratio, size, resolution, etc)

How to create a post for one or multiple platforms at the same time:

When creating any post, you can select to do it for one or multiple platforms at the same time, keeping in mind that there are specific limitations for each platforms (Limitations that are described below for each platform and post type)

Platform limitations for Video Posts

Facebook

Facebook Posts

Video size and duration: Videos are limited to 1GB and 20 minutes

Rate limits: There are rate limits on the number of API calls you can make within a certain period of time. If you exceed the rate limit, your requests will fail.

Video format: Videos must be in a supported format, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI.

Video content: Videos must comply with Facebook's Community Standards.

Permissions: You need to have the appropriate permissions to post videos to Facebook using the API. For example, to post videos to a Page, you need to be an admin of that Page.

Reels:


The limitations for videos on Facebook Reels through Planable, are as follows:

  • Aspect ratio: Reels must have an aspect ratio of 9x16.

  • Resolution: The recommended resolution for Reels is 1080x1920 pixels, but the minimum resolution is 540x960 pixels.

  • Frame rate: Reels must have a frame rate between 24 and 60 frames per second.

  • Duration: Reels must be between 3 and 90 seconds long.

  • File size: Reels must be less than 1GB in size.

  • Video format: Reels must be in a supported video format, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI.

  • Video content: Reels must comply with Facebook's Community Standards

  • You can only publish Reels to Facebook Pages.

  • You can only crosspost Reels to other Facebook Pages.

  • You can only send 10 collaborator invitations per Page per 24 hours.

Instagram

For Instagram, as long as you have a professional account, Business or Creator, you can also activate Direct publishing for your posts, stories and reels. Learn here how.

If you encounter issues saying that your account is not a business account, follow the steps in the article here.

Instagram Posts:

  • Video size: Videos must be less than 100MB in size.

  • Video format: Videos must be in a supported video format, such as MP4 or MOV.

  • Video Dimensions: 1920 x 1080p, 1080 x 1350p , 1080 x 1080p (max)

  • Landscape Aspect Ratio: 1.9:1

  • Potrait Aspect Ratio: 1:1

  • Vertical Aspect Ratio: 4:5 or 16:9

  • Video duration: Videos must be between 3 and 60 seconds long.

  • You cannot publish Instagram posts with more than 30 hashtags.

  • You cannot publish Instagram posts with more than 10 images or videos.

Instagram Stories:

  • Stories can only be published one image or video at a time.

  • Adding text effects or stickers to Stories is not available using the API.

  • Stories must comply with Instagram's Community Guidelines.

  • There is a rate limit on the number of Stories you can publish using the API

  • You cannot publish Stories that are longer than 60 seconds.

  • You cannot publish Stories with multiple images or videos.

  • You cannot publish Stories with interactive elements, such as polls or questions.

  • You cannot publish Stories with links.

  • You cannot publish Stories with hashtags.

Instagram Reels:

  • Reels must be between 3 and 90 seconds long.

  • Reels must have an aspect ratio of 9:16.

  • Reels must be in a supported video format, such as MP4 or MOV.

  • Reels must comply with Instagram's Community Guidelines.

  • There is a rate limit on the number of Reels you can publish using the API.

  • You cannot publish Reels with music or audio effects.

  • You cannot publish Reels with stickers or text effects.

  • You cannot publish Reels with polls, questions, or other interactive elements.

  • You cannot publish Reels with links.

  • You cannot publish Reels with hashtags.

Linkedin

  • Maximum file size: 5GB

  • Minimum file size: 75KB

  • Maximum video duration: 15 minutes when uploaded from desktop and 10 minutes when uploaded from the LinkedIn mobile app

  • Minimum video duration: 3 seconds

  • Resolution range: 256x144 to 4096x2304

  • Aspect ratio: 1:2.4 - 2.4:1

  • Frame rates: 10fps - 60 fps

  • Bit rates: 192 kbps - 30 Mbps

Videos must also be in a supported video format, such as MP4, MOV, or MPEG-4.

TikTok

  • Maximum file size: 72MB for Android and 278.6MB for iOS

  • Minimum video duration: 3 seconds

  • Maximum video duration: 10 minutes (currently in testing for some users)

  • Aspect ratio: 9:16

  • Frame rate: 24-60 frames per second

  • Video format: MP4 or MOV

Twitter

  • Maximum file size: 512MB

  • Minimum video duration: 0.5 seconds

  • Maximum video duration: 2 minutes and 20 seconds

  • Aspect ratio: 1:3 to 3:1

  • Frame rate: 60fps or less

  • Video format: MP4

Youtube

  • Maximum file size: 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less

  • Maximum video duration: 12 hours (videos longer than 15 minutes must be uploaded by verified accounts)

  • Aspect ratio: Any aspect ratio is supported

  • Frame rate: Any frame rate is supported

  • Video format: MP4, MOV, or AVI are the recommended video formats

  • Videos must be less than 1GB in size

  • Videos must be in a supported video format, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI

  • Videos must comply with YouTube's Community Guidelines

  • You need to have the appropriate permissions to publish videos to YouTube using the API

Pinterest

  • Maximum file size: 2GB

  • Minimum video duration: 4 seconds

  • Maximum video duration: 15 minutes

  • Aspect ratio: Shorter than 1:2 (width:height), taller than 1.91:1. Pinterest recommends square (1:1) or vertical (2:3 or 9:16) videos.

  • Frame rate: 24-60 frames per second

  • Video format: MP4, MOV, or M4V

  • Encoding: H.264 or H.265

In addition to the above limitations, there are also some specific limitations for videos published to Pinterest using the API:

  • Videos must be less than 100MB in size

  • Videos must be in a supported video format, such as MP4, MOV, or M4V

it's required to select a board in order to publish to pinterest

attachment size is too big for pinterest (113.49)mb, maximum allowed size is up to 104.86mb

Google Business Profile

  • Maximum file size: 75MB

  • Minimum file size: 25KB

  • Maximum video duration: 30 seconds

  • Minimum video duration: 3 seconds

  • Resolution: 720p or higher

  • Aspect ratio: 16:9

  • Frame rate: 24-60 frames per second

  • Video format: MP4

Videos must also comply with Google's Business Profile Photos & videos policy, which prohibits videos that are:

  • Sexually suggestive

  • Violent

  • Offensive or hateful

  • Illegal or dangerous

  • Spam or deceptive

  • Promoting products or services that are not allowed on Google Business Profile

  • Videos must be less than 1GB in size

  • Videos must be in a supported video format, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI
