Using Planable you create and publish multiple content types for Facebook:

In the following section we will see how you create your post in Planable, for Facebook.

Before actually seeing the post creation process, we will see a few limitations imposed by the Facebook API.

Planable, in order to publish your posts on Facebook uses an API connection with the Meta servers.

You can see here what does that mean and how it affects the publishing process.

Important things to keep in mind when creating a post for Facebook:

  • Maximum size 8MB/ image

  • Maximum width: 2048

  • Maximum height: 2048

  • Maximum images per post 100

  • Video size and duration: Videos are limited to 1GB and 20 minutes

  • Rate limits: There are rate limits on the number of API calls you can make within a certain period of time. If you exceed the rate limit, your requests will fail.

  • Video format: Videos must be in a supported format, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI.

  • Video content: Videos must comply with Facebook's Community Standards.

  • Permissions: You need to have the appropriate permissions to post videos to Facebook using the API. For example, to post videos to a Page, you need to be an admin of that Page.

The limitations for videos on Facebook Reels through Planable, are as follows:

  • Aspect ratio: Reels must have an aspect ratio of 9x16.

  • Resolution: The recommended resolution for Reels is 1080x1920 pixels, but the minimum resolution is 540x960 pixels.

  • Frame rate: Reels must have a frame rate between 24 and 60 frames per second.

  • Duration: Reels must be between 3 and 90 seconds long.

  • File size: Reels must be less than 1GB in size.

  • Video format: Reels must be in a supported video format, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI.

  • Video content: Reels must comply with Facebook's Community Standards

  • You can only publish Reels to Facebook Pages.

  • You can only crosspost Reels to other Facebook Pages.

  • You can only send 10 collaborator invitations per Page per 24 hours.

How to create a post:

In the article below, you can see how to actually create a post, edit an image, a video, add location, target your audience and many more:

Troubleshooting common issues with scheduled Facebook posts

#100 Error for Facebook post - Only owners of the URL have the ability to specify the picture, name, thumbnail or description params.

This error occurs when your website is not authorized to post to the Facebook page, this is due to security procedures put in place by Facebook to prevent unauthorized posts from external sources to be shared to your Facebook page.

To fix this please have a look at this document from Facebook:

Once you've gone through the verification process, the change might not be immediate, so please have some patience, if a few hours has passed and you're still receiving the error, then try disconnecting your Facebook account from the ROP dashboard and re-adding it and test sharing again.

(#200) Permissions error: (#200) Permissions error

This error occurs when you did not give enough permissions to Planable either to post on the page that you are trying to publish or in the specific group.

We will take each issue at a time:

  • You are trying to publish on a page and you receive this error:

Go to Business Integrations on Facebook, delete Planable as one of the apps and then try again to add pages in Planable (find out how). When reconnecting Planable a model window will appear asking you to grant permissions for our app.

Make sure you tick all the boxes for all the pages you're managing and give Planable the right to "post content on your behalf" to schedule & publish posts.

  • You are trying to publish in a Facebook group:

Please make sure you're an admin of the group, as well as add Planable as an app in your group.

Go to the group's settings --> "Manage advanced settings" and select "Apps" and make sure Planable is added there. you can also remove it and re-add it making sure that you give it permissions to post in the group.

“OAuthException”, “code”: 400, “error_message”: “Your facebook account’s off-Facebook activity in turned off.”}:

This can be resolved by following the steps in this guide:

And instead of turning it off, please make sure that you turn it on.
