LinkedIn publishing with Planable Mobile App

Publish LinkedIn posts from your phone using manual publishing. Planable sends a push notification when your post is due, and you finish publishing directly in the LinkedIn app so you can tag people, add locations, and make final edits natively.

LinkedIn’s API doesn’t reliably support tagging personal profiles from third-party tools. Manual publishing gives you a way to publish through the LinkedIn app itself, so you can tag people and use all of LinkedIn’s native features without limitations.

Manual publishing works for both personal profiles and company pages.

Good to know: Make sure you have the Planable mobile app installed and push notifications enabled so you receive the publish reminder on time.

Enable manual publishing for LinkedIn

To turn on manual publishing for a LinkedIn page:

  1. Go to your workspace’s Settings.
  2. Under Pages, find the LinkedIn page (personal profile or company page).
  3. Toggle Manual publishing on.

Once enabled, all scheduled posts for that page will use the manual publishing flow instead of publishing through LinkedIn’s API.

Enable manual publishing for a single post

You don’t have to enable manual publishing for the entire page. You can also toggle it on for individual posts directly from the composer:

  1. Open the post in the composer.
  2. In the @mention popover or publishing options, select Manual publishing for that specific post.

This is useful when you only need to tag someone on a particular post but want the rest of your LinkedIn content to publish automatically.

💡 Pro tip: The @mention popover in the composer now separates personal profile tagging, company tagging, and the manual publishing option — so you can quickly switch to manual publishing when you need to tag someone LinkedIn’s API doesn’t support.

Publishing through the mobile app

The workflow mirrors manual publishing for Instagram and TikTok:

  1. Create and schedule your LinkedIn post in Planable (from desktop or mobile).
  2. At the scheduled publish time, Planable sends a push notification to your phone.
  3. Tap the notification to open the post in Planable’s Publish Now screen.
  4. Open LinkedIn from Planable — your caption and media are transferred automatically (see Android vs iOS differences below).
  5. Add tags, mentions, locations, or any final edits directly in LinkedIn.
  6. Publish the post in LinkedIn, then return to Planable and mark the post as published.

Android vs iOS

Platform What happens
Android Caption and media open directly in LinkedIn’s composer. Add tags and publish.
iOS Caption is copied to the clipboard and media is saved to your gallery. Open LinkedIn, paste the caption, attach your media, then publish.
