When creating any post, you can publish to one or multiple platforms at the same time — just keep in mind the platform-specific limits described below for each platform and post type.
Good to know: Planable validates file size, duration, dimensions/aspect ratio, and the number of media per post. Frame rate, bitrate, and file format/codec aren't checked by Planable — those values are each platform's own recommendations. Some limits also differ depending on whether you publish directly (auto-publish) or add media and publish manually.
Facebook posts
- File size and duration: up to 1GB and 20 minutes
- Video format: a supported format such as MP4, MOV, or AVI (platform recommendation)
- Videos must comply with Facebook's Community Standards
- You need the right permissions to post to a Page (e.g. you must be an admin)
- API rate limits apply — if you exceed them, requests will fail
Facebook Reels
- Aspect ratio: 9:16
- Resolution: recommended 1080x1920 px; minimum 540x960 px
- Duration: 3 to 90 seconds
- File size: up to 1GB
- Frame rate: 24–60 fps (platform recommendation)
- Video format: MP4, MOV, or AVI (platform recommendation)
- Reels can only be published to Facebook Pages, and crossposted to other Facebook Pages
- Up to 10 collaborator invitations per Page per 24 hours
As long as you have a professional account, you can activate direct publishing for posts, stories, and reels. Learn how here.
Good to know: On Instagram Creator accounts, story direct publishing can't be enabled due to an Instagram API limitation — you can still publish stories from the Planable mobile app, or switch to a Business account. If you see a "not a business account" error, follow the steps here.

Threads
Threads supports publishing videos in Planable — as single video posts, GIFs, or mixed-media carousels (up to 10 media per post). Planable doesn't apply its own video limits for Threads; the following are set by Threads:
- Duration: up to 5 minutes (300 seconds)
- File size: up to 1GB
- Aspect ratio: Threads supports formats from very tall to very wide; 9:16 vertical is recommended to avoid awkward cropping
Good to know: Video isn't supported for Google Business Profile — you can publish images there, but not videos.
